Down to Earth
Yoga Therapy

Empowering you to discover
your innate capacity to heal.

Down to Earth Yoga Therapy offers 1 to 1 sessions, workshops and retreats, weaving together evidence-based practice and ancient wisdom with accessibility in mind. No matter what your experience or health concern, I aim to empower you to discover your own innate capacity to heal, and to remind you that you are already whole, exactly as you are.

Hi, I’m Rachel.

Yoga Therapist, Manager of PTSD UK charity and Lecturer & Supervisor at The Minded Institute.

I offer yoga therapy, but I am not a healer.

The origin of the word ‘healer’ implies one who cures, saves or ‘makes whole’. In both my personal experience and my work, I have been held back by the common misconception that to heal is to become whole, and that we must rely on external forces in this process. But how is it that we can ever be anything less than whole? And how did we become so dependent on healing from the outside in rather than the inside out?

I created Down to Earth to inspire in you a confidence in your own innate healing capacity, and to remind you that even amidst the messiness and challenges of being human, you are already whole. At the heart of everything I do is a passion for sharing wisdom and practices that are accessible, relatable and down to earth, equipping you with tools you can integrate into your daily life with ease.

So rather than a healer, consider me an assistant in your own healing process. Rather than helping you to become ‘whole’, know that I will instead guide you towards integration; to integrate body, heart, mind & life as a means of supporting health.

1 to 1

Tailored to meet the ever-changing needs of the individual, 1 to 1 yoga therapy sessions tend to focus on specific health concerns. The goal is to empower you with accessible practices and tools you can integrate into daily life, with a view to improving health and wellbeing in the long-term.

Workshops

With years of experience in delivering a wide range of workshops and lectures, I specialise in facilitating group learning on yoga therapy, mindfulness, breathwork and embodied creative expression. Workshops can also be tailored to suit the needs of your particular group.

Retreats

Retreats offer an opportunity for profound personal transformation in a relatively short space of time. Having facilitated dozens of retreats in Cambodia, Vietnam, Portugal & the UK, I have a wealth of experience in curating and delivering high-quality bespoke retreat programmes.

What People Are Saying

“One year's worth of therapy in an hour.
My trauma left me with high levels of anxiety and a body that was tensing up, and after a year of talking therapy I was no closer to my healthy self. Rachel listened to my words and my body, she gave me a few exercises to follow that I can easily fit into my daily life. Within a week my body was loosening and I could move in a way that I haven’t been able to do in years. Rachel is a gift to the world; she will always be my go to person if I’m ever in need of help.”

— Hayley, UK

“Transformative, to say the least.
Rachel has a vast understanding of her field and did such an incredible job of distilling it in a way that best resonated with me
. Over a 2-month period of working with Rachel and utilising the custom tools and practices that she introduced to me, I've transitioned from a socially-removed shut-down individual back to someone who is connected, alive, and thriving once again. Trust me, you owe it to yourself to connect with Rachel! It just might change your life forever.”

— Jason, USA

“Working with Rachel changed my life.
I had 1 to 1 yoga therapy with Rachel to help my anxiety and stress levels, and I now feel confident to practice at home. A lot of my thought processes and outlooks on life have changed from working with Rachel and the way she frames life. She is so warm and kind to work with, and has such a broad knowledge of yoga, anxiety, the body and how they all connect and work together. I always look forward to sessions with Rachel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.”
